Cascades West Rideshare, Cherriots Rideshare, and Lane Transit District’s Commuter Solutions Program collaborated in 2002 to streamline service, promotion, and recruitment for commuter vanpools in the Willamette Valley.From this collaboration, Valley Van Pool was formed. The Program has given vanpools a recognizable, common logo that has greatly enhanced marketing efforts, set up a vanpool hotline number, and created a Web site that is a one-stop vanpool information center.           

Valley Vanpool has been involved in the creation or oversight of ten vanpools that serve over 100 commuters in the Willamette Valley. These vanpools reduce Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT) by over 100,000 miles every month.  The Valley VanPool logo is highly visible on vanpools traveling between Eugene, Salem (our state capitol), Corvallis, Albany, and Lebanon.  

Valley VanPool looks forward to creating and supporting many more vanpools in the future that will give Willamette Valley commuters more choices in how they get to work.
